GOSH! Love this week? I can't believe it!

What can I say? Or even worse, what I'm goint to show you this week?

Let me think....Everybody look for love, don't they? But no one does it the same way, that's why it's soooooooo difficult to find THE person of your life.

Some people, just accept that person, or is so hidden or doesn't exist, so they just look for people that will eventually make them feel love, but not forever.
All the contrary, others wait no matter what to their soul mate to come.
And others, just know love is everywhere, everyone got love and want love.
Anyway, everybody know love is not something between a guy and a girl. Friends love each other, I love my family, people love their pets, or even love objects with some meaning for them. Everything can be loved, EVERY SINGLE THING.
LOVE.

So after that, I'm going to show some drawings and let you know what kind of love I think it's shown.

We'll start easy. A couple holding hands. I think these two belong to that people who look for the perfect person to arrive. While drawing this I wanted to show how great it is to have someone who makes you feel goo all the time. Makes you feel home no matter where, that lets you be yourself no matter what.
They're not doing any expectacular thing, but they wouldn't like to be in any other place. They belong to each other and they know it.

Secondly, we have this drawing I made like two years ago. Those people are meant to be siblings.

This kind of love is sooooooooooo special. Unbreakable link. Brothers and sister surely fight more between each other than with any other person in the world, but it doesn't matter because they won't let other people fight as much as they do.

I think a sister or a brother is the only one who can make you feel bad and good in the same day, with just a face. =)

This third drawing may bring controversy but when I knew we had to talk about love, I decided I would truly talk about all kind of ''most used ''love that can exist between people, and nowadays, we can't deny this is one of the ways people love each other. Homosexuality is defenitely another kind of love so I rushed making this drawing to be able to include it on this post.

I want to say that this kind of love is not something ''dirty'' as some can think, it's just a different way. People can love a person of the same sex as much as anyone can love a person of the other sex. It doesn't matter. You don't fall in love with the sex of the person, if not with the person.

Now, the next three drawing showing hands are thought to let you see how no word is needed to tell someone you love him or her.

And finally, I'll post this one.

I truly wanted to make this post without drawing a guy and a girl kissing as it would have been so expected talking about love. Anyway, we can see here another kind of love I've already talked about. I see them knowing that the love the share won't last forever, but they're not feelling sorry for that. They know at least the moment will last, And that's what matters.

Now, as I've been asked to, i'd like to point out how many things I've learnt while making this blog. Now, I now how to put videos both uploading them directly here or using a youtube link. I've leart how to put pictures, and how to make links to other pages. I've learnt the importance of the sice of the fonts and the colours, the order etc... I've learn the different ways links are connected, I've known about so amazing websites such as Picnik and I've known how many possibilities Google has, as Google Docs. And above all, I've learnt how to work in group. We started knowing so little about each other but we worked together though. We talked together about what feeling we could ''explain'' week after week. I've learnt so much from them.

So I'm done with this! See you soon with next and last feeling; Happiness.

L O V E ! love, love is all you need.

As you could've guessed, this week's topic is L'amour. As it sounds better in french right? Well, in animation there's ALWAYS a love scene, no exception. What's about a story without the final kiss? And the...''happy forever after''.

Now we are talking about love as something literal like in Snowhite and the seven dwarfs or the Lion King, even Ariel from the little mermaid takes love as something that HAS to happen in order to give some action or to withdraw the storyline ahead into one defying plot. But what about the love as something subjective, like in Toy Story, you might say there's no storyline including love but, there's the love from Andy to his toys, and Woody keeps moving because of this love, because Love is a strength, its some kind of feeling that move the character to make somethings he wouldn't do, and as well as we watch it on animation (the prince could face a dragon in order to save the princess).

There's a question hidden behind every corner: what would you do...for love? Oh no no, better, What wouldn't you do for love? For you family, for your beloved, for your TOYS or your drawings, for your passions or goals. Save a gipsy hanging from a rope at 50feet from the floor, Losing your voice? Joining an army against the Huns? Or...becoming an OGER. Tousché! We all have that weak point where impossible becomes reachable with that strange force, love. There's also the 'Meant to be love' Like, Jack and Sally or Kiara and Kowu, Pocahontas and John Smith, that's no more than an animated reproduction of Romeo and Juliet.

It's also the I hate you I love you, like in Ratatouille, Hey Arnold! or Hercules. Or the weird love like in Beauty and the Beast or Evangeline in the Princess and the Frog. All of them are ways to express or to behave when Humans fell in love, those are only human feelings, they work as cultural models, I actually blame disney for convincing me of that Happy Forever after story, I believe that love stories nowadays will become sourer than what it is. Because children may grow with illusions in their heads, that are not exactly real. Princes will not always come at the right moment in a white horse, they might come when you less expect them , maybe in some sweat shirts, even in bus.

But the white horse and the Ads smile might not be very accurate in real life. 'Love is a battlefield' it's hard to get is as pure as it wants it to be, and there's one animation that has already shown this perfectly, Shrek the Fourth. There's a marriage between two ogres, and a Happy Forever After story. What happens? That happy life becomes terribly boring and repetitive. It's not only the morning kiss and the picnic, it's taking care of children, work to maintain a whole family, and also work to keep a love life effective, keep it alive, be always in love with the one you adore, watch it everyday as if it was the first time, and that is not easy to keep. So that's why many divorces are, because 'Love wasn't enough' and thats true, is about tolerance and matureness love feelings.

So, as this is my last post in here (naaa, I'll be back I promise) , I'll tell you what have I learnt from writing it:

Ive learnt that working in teams is really interesting because art can scream from different sides.
It's really nice to keep the constant posting, Ive learnt to be consequent with my posts, that might be very helpful in my own personal blog.
Ive learnt a lot of things about art, from movies to poetry and painting, this is a really interesting blog, we all did our best to keep the audience satisfied so I hope you enjoy.
I've learnt how to make this page heard by many people, with RSS channels or sharing it on twitter.
Blogger is a nice platform to make blogs, it's very easy to use and things such as customization are one of a kind.
I've learnt to thank my sources and appreciate their work.
I've learnt to use some widgets and blogger applications I had no idea they existed.
I discovered my passion for animation, I didn't knew I was totally fond of it.
I actually discovered many blogs in my class that are very interesting aswell, you may find them in our blogroll.
I didn't know how to use a blogroll.

Love is the air... everywhere I look around

Yep, another week has come (a little bit late) along with a new feeling, a feeling that everybody has felt and everyone has and wants to talk about:

                                                     LOVE

I'm not gonna start explaining what is love, netiher put a definition (usually that's Cris' job hehe). Each one has his own definition of love, each love it's different from another, there a lot, hundreds, thousands, millions of ways to love. It's not the same the love I feel for a friend, for another friend, for my parents, my brother, my cousins, my boyfriend, my exboyfriend, my dog, my teachers, my neighbours, my teddybear...

How is love explained on cinema?
Well, I could write a very long essay if you let me talk, but there will be no space, so I will center on a few examples, which are the most common to see in movies.

"I just love him. He's the love of my life. I can't live without him"
How many times have we watched this cliché? This is the typical "love relationship" in which cinema focus on, specially nowadays, along with friendship. A boy loves a girl. A girl loves a boy. Nothing else matters. You have a lot of movies about this topic from the classic Romeo and Juliet to the latest box-office hit, Twilight. A look, a word, a cuddle, a hug, a kiss... Every little scene can express love, it doesn't matter what it is, even tiding a shoelace (as you will see in the video) But this is not only about "a boy loves a girl"... this about "someone loves someone... or something".

I honestly think that love is something that can't be explained by words, but words can express love.

I've made this video, because this way is easy for me to explain it to you.
This video is focused on couple from a film (those I had on my computer, sorry couldn't find Romeo and Juliet nor Titanic...) and shows some scenes.
The couples is:
Harry and Ginny (from Harry Potter) => Lovers

Here we go then:

At first we can see how Harry looks to the window and sees Ginny, and he smiles, which cleary shows that he is happy to see her and to know that she will be in the same house as him.
In the next scene, we can see them in the living room during Christmas. He's feeling bad because the adults don't belive him, but Ginny comes and just with her presence, Harry forgets about that matter and focuses on her. They look at each other, she offers him some food and jokes about her giving the food to his mouth. He smiles and, without a word, eats, and she smiles as well. After saying "it's good", Ron comes an both lovers spare and he seats in the middle of them. Even though Ron is Harry's friend and Ginny's older brother, we can see that both, Harry and Ginny, are bothered by his presence.
Next scene. Harry is looking through the window and Ginny comes. After making sure Ron is in bed, Ginny crouches down to tie Harry's shoelace, which helps her because, when she gets up again, she's much closer to Harry's face. "Merry Christmas". Just two simple words and no mistletoe. They are about to kiss but something happens...
Next scene, which is the following from the previous, Harry runs out the house and jumps a wall of fire. Ginny follows him and jumps too. She knows it's dangerous, but she can't just leave Harry alone. She's following him but gets lost, and is founded by one of the bad guys. She's scared, she can't even move or defend herself with her wand. Suddenly, Harry comes and saves her. He gave up his mision (he was chasing another bad character) to save her. We can aprreciate at minute 2:18 how he wants to put her behind him, to protect her. That very little gesture (which only takes like two second of the entire film) shows much more love than many other scenes.
Then we can see Ginny ofering her hand to Harry and Harry takes it. She is helping him on a very dificult moment. Harry has to get rid of a dangerous book he has come to love and (maybe you might remember) Ginny had to deal with a similar situation on the second movie (Chamber of secrets) but she was alone. That's why she's the only one who can help Harry in this precise moment.
Next scene, we can see Ginny kissing Harry. She loves him. He loves her. But everything is very complicated, and they both know. That is why that small, private, loving kiss.
And finally, last scene, and also very moving one. Harry is really sad because (SPOLIER ALERT!) Dumbledore has died. Ginny separates from the crowd that is watching and sharing Harry's pain and hugs him; this time, she protects him. He hugs her back and cries, feeling safe in her arms as he knows she loves him no matter if he cries, she's there for him.


What have I learnt from these practices?
Many things.
I've learnt what's an RSS and how to put widgets on my blog, I've learnt how a drawing can express as much as a simple look and more than a simple word, I've learnt how a poem can fill up a person's soul... I've learnt how to edit an HTML, how to insert videos, how to make links... I've learnt how to be a bloguer.

This time I decided to interview my best friend, art passionated and musician. He studies Liberal Arts at the PUCP's University in Lima and he comes with an interesting point of view about animation and it's influence in society. I have the pleasure to introduce Lorenzo Bouroncle:

First Question:

Q: What do you think of cartoons as a source of moral education for young audiences?

A: I think it's a double edged sword. On the one hand, the dynamism and the colors that are played on the screen produced a child (or person) who is watching, retain more information. Well, pictures that are often divorced from the reality and, ultimately, much depends on the content and message that they bring to make teaching materials. Moreover, today's cartoons are part of a trend to which I called "The Stream current." I say current, because it has been trivialized much the message that brought cartoons to children, in addition, many figures and compositions of these drawings are grotesque and figures rather than to encourage the imaginative world, spoil the taste and culture of our children.

Q: Do you think that has changed the way of developing the 'Plot' of cartoons throughout history? If so, in what sense?

A: Definitely. Previously, every cartoon had everything very lightweight and was treated with continuity. Were generally stories with well-defined arguments. Matter that at the end of viewing these drawings, it had a very clear message. Now, I notice that the cartoons meet a very complex phenomenon , that I call: "teletubbiezise" the animated world.We must take note that I am generalizing a lot, because there are still many pictures that preserve the classical rules, which I think are much better, but with a more modern design, which is not to say grotesque. As I said, I feel that the animated world of today, talking about TV in most cases, treating children like computers, where learning robotized. This was totally disfigured pictures, sounds and very violent ways. It makes you think: What are we breeding?

Q: Do you still like watching animated films?

A:Yes, I love it. I automatically transport into a world which I miss. I can not believe how powerful it can be to me.

4 Q: Did you like any animated film in your childhood? If so, Which one and why?

A: A: Yes! Pokemon! Many people tell me it is not an anime, that does not even post. What I liked about Pokemon was that I found a completely alternative world that I live, in which the fellowship and healthy competition leads one to motivate themselves. The colors and the creatures called Pokemon were elements that seduced me a lot and gave the series that mystical touch that I like.

 IT has been difficult to think about who did I want to interview but finally I decided to choose someone near: not other but the singular Bárbara Méndez, who, apart from being this blog's manager, studying Audiovisual Communication at the University of Navarre,and wishing to become musical producer, has a special sensibility for poetry.

What genre of poetry do you think is the most expressive?

Melancholy.

Related to what issues? What makes you feel it?

Loneliness maybe, death and deception, those are very pure feelings, there′s a strong message in between, even more than happiness.

Do you have a favorite poet? A favorite poem?Cesar Vallejo in the `Los Heraldos Negros.′

Do you think poetry is still a way of expresing feelings? That poets still exist?

Yes, I do believe in poetry as well as I believe in pure feelings. Modernism might have affected our society making us pragmatical and working focused on the left side, but humanity is there. We only have to focus on our inner side. Our early poets reside basically in musicians and lyrics. I think that books might have left aside and poetry found a big complement like music. They both work together aswell.

From John Smith to "the Jocker",everything is possible!

I can't believe that I'm posting on tuesday but things are like this: exams, studying... and it wasn't easy to find a person to do an interview to. finally, I decided to interview someone who does have a nice interest for cinema:

Anna Civera, student of Enviromental Sciences at the Universitat de Valencia, member of youtube, video editor, member of  a Spanish group of video editors called "Once Upon a Time Studios" (just like me) and my best friend.

What, do you think, are the principal emotions that can be expressed in  cinema and why?

Well, joy, terror, love, sadness... These are emotions that, along with the suitable gesture, even without words, can transmit an almost total empathy to the expectators. I think this way, and also that a good music and effects can make the poorest interpretation to trasmit what it was suposed to transmit. I don't  particularily think they are the main ones, but that they are what people mostly and  more easily notice when they watch a movie. When I'm watching a film and I see this type of emotions I kind of think "Man, that guy would have frightened me too!", "I would have also fall in love with him...", "what a happy moment, I wish it'd happen to me too" and things like that... They are really intense and, therefore, those that can be better expressed.

Is there any emotion or feeling that you think cinema is not possible to express?

Maybe, hope, or I even say faith... But, sometimes, these can be expressed by actions with double meaning.

As an editor, how do you imagine a, for example, sad scene in your mind?

Firstly, close shot to the character's expression with no music, even with a sudden cut of music, silence, so, that way, the expectator can be imbued of his expression. And then, the camera would move slowly backwards and the silence would get broken with a sad soundtrack.

As an editor, what’s the hardest thing to you to express with the videos you use?

Well, as you know because you’re also a memeber, I work with Disney videos. What’s most hard to me is to express the emotional charge of a scene because of the little expression that some characters have sometimes. For example, John Smith is a complete “poker face”. The only moment when he looks kind of different is when he saw Grandma Willow. This doesn’t mean that all of them are like this, but sometimes it’s difficult to express that sensitivity as hardly as you want. On the other hand, matching the images with the sound or music it's something easy to do, bcause rhythm is something that is inside us and is something that the editor choses. The editor can't chose the expresions and this makes the work much more harder.

Which is the hardest expression to express as an editor? And the easiest?

The hardest one is envy, jealousy, inner rage... And the easiest one, sadness. The first ones, because they are complicated and drag a very sentimental and emotional charge, which is hard to express with images, music and, sometimes, even words. There are expression that, if you haven’t feel them, are very difficult to capture or understand. On the second hand, sadness is a feeling which, unluckily, everybody has to deal with almost dialy and is hard to hide. Therefore, it’s easy to identify and show to others.

Finally, is there any movie, interpretation or director that you would like to mention, for good or bad?

Yes! The Dark Knight! I think the director knew, somehow, how to underline all the emotions and the awful feelings of the chacaters, all their personal dramas, incredibly well. And the role of The Jocker was represented so well, you could just feel... like... I don’t know how to express it... like if you could somehow understand how he was feeling but you didn’t feel the same, and it makes you fear him. You could see Batman as a common man, like the others, not as someone unachievable. And the rhythm of the movie was the suitable one, accompanied by a soundtrack that intesifies the drama and the action.

Cris posting today? On Monday? GOSH. Apocalypse is coming soon!
I almost die yesterday night trying to make my mind keep something about History for today's exam. After 3 coffees I think it worked correctly enough to let me answer all the questions.

So well, let's start out.
Today, Im afraid, I'm not coming with more drawings, or not drawing of mine. This has mainly two reasons. My computer decided do explode last week so I don't have photographs of my drawings and I won't have time to make them untill next week. Secondly, this week we are not talking about my drawings nor my feelings this time.
So let me explain. Our Boss - Wila- want us to make an interview this week to a person who knows about the subject we are talking about.
As we are talking about ways of expression and my participation here developes the drawings field, I had to look for someone who could give me a new pint of view here.

Knowing this, I tried to contact Murakami but he did not pick up the phone and when I tried with Van Gogh, it lookes like he had hearing problems.
So I finally called this amazing girl, Estefania, who is one of the most creative girls I've never known. I wish I had her imagination so I was truly looking forward talking to her about art so I could see in a deeper way what runs through her mind whie creating.

Let's place us.

Estefania is still student of ''A'' levels. I knew her during a school party and from that moment on I knew she was an artist.

Q.So tell us! You've been drawing since you have memory, Do you think you have a gift, and do you think it will follow you untill your dying day?A. I think never! ever, ever, ever could stop drawing or painting. It will always be something tat helps me sharing feelings, that is by my side and above all, somethin I like doing.


Q.What is DRAWING for you?A. For me, drawing is more than making line on a shit, is more than put down in a paper what I see...It is another world.When I pick up a pencil in front of a white paper...I feel fear. I'm afraid of being mistaken, of not being able to show waht I feel, of wasting that piece of paper. But then, I forget about all the rest. I stop, close my eyes, breath and start.
That's the moment when everything, what I feel, what I believe, what inspires me...makes something that for me is the greatest thing, because it's mine and mne alone, because I felt it and it's a aprt of me. It's something I've lived.

Q. When do you know is worth drawing an idea you have and when it is not?A. I just don't know. Something calls my atention or inspires me. When that idea or person I'm looking at fulfils me and I think 'Wow' so you suddenly know what to do to make justice to that thing or person and show how much you care. And this way, I made hundred and hundred of drawing, them all different.

Q. What do you fancy more to draw?A. In fact, tha't a quite difficult question that I'm sure will have thousands of answers depending on who is asked. For instance, I do seek for inspiration on feelings so Abstract drawings show way better my feelings. When I want a glance, and smile or whatever, I can use photography, as is something real, when I want a story I do write one but never gets to be as emotional as drawing.

Q. And what is the feeling you think that can be best expressed through drawings?A. Wow, that's not easy. If we where talking about expressing feeling by symbols, love without hesitating. You know, heart shapes, chocolate, roses... But talking ina afair way, expressing them how thay really are what the truly mean, all feeling could be tied.

Q. Do you fancy other ways of expression?A. Yeah, I truly do. In fact, as my drawing skills are quite limitated I complete them by using other ways of epression such as photography, writing, poesy or sculpture that allow me expressing myself the way I need to.

Q. What technique do you like most?A. I honestly, love drawing just using my hands and I susually do it using tempera. Feeling the paint in your hands while being your own drawing tool it's just brilliant. I also facy pencil or charcoal. Well, anyway, every way is fine as allows me expressing.

Q.And finnally, which of all the ways of expression you said before, it's the best one for you and why would you recommend this way of expression and not the other.A. I don't think I could make any choice as for me they all make a pack helping to find a great pic. But anyway, I think the best is gathering all ways I said.
This way, there's always a feeling. An expresion.

ADMIRATING SMALL THINGS AND MAKING THEM LOOK GREAT

THERE'S a lyric genre for that:

THE ODE is a passionate song where the lyrical speaker expresses a feeling of excitement, enthusiasm, commitment and ADMIRATION.

Most of the authors that have cultivated this genre are Spanish and french; so I'm sorry I couldn't find any english ode. Anyway, for spanish and latinamerican readers this time I've had a look to some of Pablo Neruda's -yes, again him, this man is always surpising me-odes and I found one you may find yourselves identified with:  Ode to the dictionary.

This is it's most significant part, though the fragment where he exaltates the diccionary's qualities appears many verses under (you'll see it by clicking on "linked" title of the poem, over these lines):

 You see how poetry can show the special side of things, even if they are as simple as the ones which Pablo Neruda chose to write about; and another marvelous ode I found written by him is the Ode to the critics, of which I let you here a podcast; the voice is Joaquin Sabina's.

From Zero to Hero!

Ladies and Gentleman, make way for the hero of the night! This week’s topic is about: Admiration.



Such a weird and complicated subject to illustrate as it is not as easy to see as the others. But it’s there anyways. I’ll focus this way, every movie needs a hero, EVERY kid has its favorite hero, I used to have one actually, (no I won’t tell you guys who was it) but they assume the whole admiration of thousand kids who actually buy toys of their favorite character. Who wouldn’t buy a Woody’s animated figure? Or Sulley , from monsters Inc? I actually own James Sullivan’s toy.

So these animated guys are here to make extraordinary tasks in order to save: a toy? the town? Princesses? The world? Universe? From evil hands like the ones I’ve posted before. Like there are few specific scenes of these feelings I’m making this video shorter than the rest of the videos I’ve posted.

Admiration in Animation (it rhymes!) is usually built as Son-Father, as the Lion King or Hercules, even Ariel shows a lot of respect for his father, Triton, the mer king. It is also common to be shown as some external admiration like hero relation, great tasks requires public and that’s how the hero is shaped, just the ones who fall into envy, get to be the villains, just because they want what the hero has, and that’s a human trouble. You see, animation is related to universal subjects, human problems, it’s not just a matter of writing colorful messy stuff just to entertain children, it is written for a special audience in order to teach culture, to shape how we are or we have to be.

Just like James Sullivan in Monsters Inc, he does his work better than anyone else, everyone just compliments him but there’s Randall, the evil lizard who wants to steal all his glory. Or Scar who wants to get control over his brother’s kingdom, beyond all that envy there’s admiration, so huge it turns into toxic poison. So the admiration subject actually deserves a pretty good space in this blog, it is important to teach to this society how to love, how to like something, how to make your own goals and not to hate another’s good work but to compete clean. It always turns into a good message to our XXI century children.

Maybe we are bringing new culture to our future, admiration makes a piece of our soul, and movies like these are here to help how to respond to that. I actually found useful our anthropology classes; applied to animation they might have a lot of a good use.

We will make a journey through some disney heroes of all the time:

Here we have Mr. Peter Pan! oh yes that elfic-ginger-look kid was the hero of all the neverland kids (he's also my hero) he doesn't want to grow up (neither I), thats why kids get so identified with him. I mean, who wants to be an adult and take things so seriously dude? lets just have fun all the time! yes!

There's also Capitan Li Shang from Mulan! this gorgeous guy is encharged of the mission against the huns. He looks tough at the beggining but he turns to be a very sensible person. Thats what we admire of our beloved heroes.}

But my favorite hero (same movie faved) is Quasimodo from the hunchback of Notredame, he is as sensible as no other, he...with his appearance seems to be the only wise in the story, he loves Esmeralda so much even though he knows it wasn't for him, he saves her from Frollo's hands. Isn't that a complete hero? I would admire Quasimodo so much in real life. That's human nature, being good and kind and not expecting anything in charge. I love that.

Hey! Here's Cris again.
So it looks like we are talking about Admiration this week ?



Brilliant. So what can I say about it? Do you think the definition above is right? Would you say more?
Because it is not for me...well, when is a simple amount of words enough for me?
As far as I'm know, I can glimpse two kind of ADMIRATION; You sometimes admire things people do or did, the rest of the time, you admire people themselves.



Now it's time to show you some examples about my theory.

Nora

First we have again this drawing I made of my school teacher, Nora.
I just wanted to point out again the admiration I feel for her. I remember how foolishly I tried my best on her exams to impress her. What I admire is the way she faces life. How there's ALWAYS something that can be done. ALWAYS.

She never gives up, overcoming the problems and always seeing the good thing in everything even if it's bad. I wish more people, included me, could think like she does so the earth -I'm sure- would be a better place.

Ok, so well, after this ''emotional'' moment, we keep on and find this drawing I made last year specially thinking about Chiara. As you can see, it's Emma Watson. I have to say I'm proud of this as I dared using so original colours and it turned out fine in the end.(Now is when you think 'fine?this is rubish')

Well, what I mean saying I did it for a friend, I'm not saying Emma Watson does not deserve any admiration, but when I was drawing this, I was specially thinking about Chiara and how much I do admire her. I have to say this is quite important to me. Chiara is balery the reason why I'm here today, why I'm doing this post instead of a History study about Vasco de Gama or whatever.

She made me start vidding like a year or so ago and once in this editing world, scaping was not an option. So I admire her for her incredible work. Her original, cool and amazing skills I think she has for video edition and photography.
And moreover, I look up to her for the way she's always after something. Thinking. Creating. She never stops working.

In third place we got this drawing I made of Elizabeth Mitchell with photoshop .This technique is called Speed Painting, but I can say the process was not technically ''fast''.

What do I admire here? Easy. She has never given up. She started soon in the acting world and nevertheless, she shined at the age of 40. She knew that ''never is too late'' and kept on it. Also I think is admirable how she can gather her personal life along with the public side of her job. She's not polemic or anything like that. She's actress and mother at once. It looks like she could do a omelet while ironing and still have time to go to Dave Letterman Show. Just amazing.

And finally, we have this drawing.
I did it last Septembre after a long month watching my grandmother's favourite soap opera Amar en Tiempos Revueltos. This girl over there is Carlota Olcina who plays -or played- Teresa García on this soap opera.
I have to say that I finally got interesed on the argument and I watched it with my grandmother.

Back from holiday, I decided to look some information about the actors and I found so interesting the work of Carlota Olcina.

She was brave enough to decide at the age of 14th what she wanted and started looking for it.

Now, she has what she fitghted for. She's an actress that fancies theater rather that movies or tv series as lets her develope more her character. I also like the way she does her job. She has a gift that make you truly feel pain, if she's sad, or anger, if she's acting as if she was angry.

To be honest, not many actors out there are talented those days, so I was impressed of some of the scenes she appeared in making me move.

I have to say ADMIRATION is one of those feeling I think that can be misunderstood with jealousy. Sometimes, when you think you hate something or someone, you admire waht the have or are indeed.

That's why I titled it this way this week. We have to be careful judging as we migth go it wrong an lose a great example to follow.

Well, well, another week has started (yeah, monday, so this is a "true" new week) so it's time for a new subject, topic, feeling: this week the topic will be:

                                                Admiration

Leonidas, Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Kennedy, Lope de Vega, Moliére, Shakespeare, Cyrano de Bergerac, King Arthur, Henry VIII, Genghis Khan, Hitler, Atila, Mozart, Julio Cesar, Elizabeth II, Beethoven, Cortés, Alexander the Great, Christopher Colombus, Cleoptara, Dalai Lama, Mery Theresa, Santa Claus, Vlad Tepes (aka, Dracula)...

Many many charaters that count not only with a worldwide-known name in history books (and TV adverts) but also with a great number of movies that show to the world how great (or not so great) they were and what did they do during their lives, no matter if they fought with 300 men againt a million, if they died during a theatre play wearing yellow clothes, if they discovered a new continent, if they killed thousand of thousands of people or if they just ride a slide with reeinder over the skies only during one night all over the year.

Sometimes it doesn't need to be centered in them, but their characters have a notable relevance in the movie, maybe because they are the power, maybe because their decision were crucial for the main character's life, maybe because they just said "yes" instead of "no" and viceversa...

But sometimes these movies talk enterely about their lifes, about what they did, how they did it, why, with who and when.
                                   

Admiration, yes, but not always conected with good stuff. Why movies about Hitler, about Atila...? I really don't think that these type of movies are conected with that kind of admiration but with admiration for a character that was a CHARACTER, a person who changed life (for good or bad), that made the world shake and stop for a while just to know he or she was there, that theyre were notorius, that they weren't ordinary and that they were going to shine (unluckily, some of them shine with a very dark light).

Personally, I don't like this type of movies but I understand that they are needed in society. Nowadays, people want to see how things were and, some of them, just can't imagine how was it just by reeding it on a book.

In the future, I want Spielberg to make a movie about myself!
